The Thirst XC 171 cm WARP snowboard has become a favorite of customers who own multiple Thirst snowboards. It is the right board when you don’t know what board to bring on a trip. It’s a medium to medium-small radius turning board. Do not let the length intimidate you; it’s easy to ride. Here’s something that will change the way you think and ride; DO NOT DETUNE this snowboard’s edges. Never detune a Thirst board’s edges. Imagine a snowboard that carves so cleanly, so smoothly, with incredible edge hold and you can run full sharpened edges, tip to tail. No grabbiness, no trying to throw the rider, just refined power and edge hold. Thirst snowboards can be made to turn much tighter than you’d think. That opens up a whole new concept of race board; a race board that can crank slalom turns all the way out to super G turns, smoothly and consistently.

Our personal observations from riding this board are it edges and rides like a scalpel slicing the snow and ice. The smoothness in turn initiation without the brutality of traditional race boards is just incredible. It feels so light and deft but handles high speeds with ease. You literally have to try a Thirst snowboard to understand this concept. This board is designed only for hard shell boots. It has a WARP shape, designed expressly for either a left foot or right foot forward rider. This is a special order board, built by a veteran owned company in the US. MUST READ; THE DEETS ON THIRST CORES:

Traditional ski and snowboard wood core is sliced from a core block and profiled. This profiling is called parabolic sweep and gives the board the change in thickness from the tip, waist and tail of the board. To this profiled core blank additional materials are added.

Thirst Enterprises LLC does not follow this construction method. A Thirst core is quintuple averaged to give it as close to an engineered material as is possible.

All core materials are hand-selected and constructed in-house.

Core construction is tuned to the customer to provide proper flex and torsional stiffness

Thirst cores are constructed with 35+ components not counting core blank/blanks or inserts. Thirst cores are built for strength, longevity and proper flex.
