LENGTH  AND WIDTH OPTIONS/RECOMMENDATIONS:

• All side cut radii listed below are a calculated average of three different, progressive radii.
• For young ladies, the 157 cm board, with its 19 cm width and 10 meter side cut radius is recommended for slalom.  SG’s recommendation for ladies giant slalom is the 175 cm board in the 19 cm width and 15.3 meter side cut radius.
• For young men, the 163 cm board, with the 20 cm width and 11.8 meter side cut radius is recommended for slalom.  Likewise, SG recommends the 180 cm board with its 20 cm width and 19.2 meter side cut radius for young men’s giant slalom.
• With all recommendations, please understand these are for experienced riders, of average to slightly larger than average sizes and weights.  Lighter weight male riders, or those riding less aggressively may benefit from the 19 cm wide boards.
• Please closely follow your coach’s recommendations, as they are the best judges of your abilities and size in selecting a race board.
• For really large feet and much heavier than average weights, with stance angles that are less than approximately 45 degrees in men’s slalom, see the 163 XT below.  Note, 22 cm is wide and with wider SG boards, they will be STIFF.  Do not order without consulting your coach’s recommendation.
• The 163 XT with its 22 cm width and 11.8 meter side cut radius is a great option for large boots and less steep angles – No boot outs ever!

The 163 XT is made for tall guys with big feet (size 43/44 EU and above).  The width creates a strong platform for pure carving, allowing maximum edge angles without

fear of “booting-out”.  The board will hold on the steepest slopes with the steepest edge angle.  This is a strong board, the increased width requires power and commitment

and the board is very stable on the edge.  It will reward you with some of the best carving smiles you ever had.
